(See later the Mackintosh Date Convention, a freely available methodology for all COBOL and other applications that achieves permanent Y2000 compliance by accommodating post-1999 and pre-1900 dates in existing 6-digit data file fields, without modification to existing data files.)
Rx Computer is dedicated to the supply and responsive front-line support of certain third-party software tools for business application. These software tools are selected as being of outstanding systems architecture, designed with a clear vision and understanding of their intended market, excellently crafted, and well proven in practical application to be capable of facilitating major bottom-line improvements for business users.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of a professional consultancy partnership, Rx Computer has access to the services of Chartered Information Systems Architects who are well experienced in providing hands-on FlexGen training and implementation services, including new applications developments, legacy systems migration/re-architecture and Y2000 compliance projects.

The Mackintosh consultancy is a long-established professional partnership of Information Systems Architects specializing in the conception, development and implementation of innovative high-productivity business applications systems.
Mackintosh have established an enduring reputation with clients in many countries for dependability, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, thoroughness, and unremitting dedication to the client's best interests.
As a contribution to Y2000 solutions, Mackintosh have developed and published a methodology for accomplishing the storage of post-1999 (and pre-1900) dates in existing six-digit fields without any change to existing data files or archives.
A further simpler method is possible for certain Cobol compilers, including IBM and Siemens. This method is also published.
A major benefit of using the Mackintosh Date Convention in Y2000 compliance projects is that the costs and dangers of data file re-building can be removed.
Mackintosh consultancy services can cover a very wide spectrum of services from strategic guidance through creative development, product acquisition, programming services, staff selection and training, to practical hands-on implementation and continuing technical support or facilities management arrangements thereafter.
